Villa in Jumeirah

It's the home of a young Emirati man, very hospitable, who loves having people over. The villa had been built from scratch by an architect: no constraints, I came in only for the interiors, to bring the spaces back to something minimal. The client asked for nothing major — larger rooms, and a handful of functional adjustments — and everything else is organised around hosting: a majlis on the roof, an infinity pool, a courtyard of succulents at the entrance, and a kitchen that closes when it's not in use.
Concrete and resin run through the common areas and the bathrooms, on the floors and up the walls. The bedrooms are in wooden parquet, and the master bathroom is clad in terrazzo.
