Penthouse at the Bulgari Residences
Bulgari Island, Dubai · 2026
Six hundred square metres, the only penthouse this size in the residence. The client wanted six bedrooms instead of four — a change that meant rethinking the entire plan. The old kitchen became a bedroom; the gym became a bedroom; the service areas were optimised to fit two new bathrooms without losing the sense of space. The result is still generous: the living room breathes, the dining room remains full-sized, and the kitchen — which now anchors one end of the main space — can close itself off when privacy is needed. The renovation turned out more complex than planned: demolition uncovered mould and water leaks that needed drastic intervention, upgrading the building beyond what we had scoped.
Looking back, if I had known how good the result would be, I would have bought another apartment just to do the same renovation all over again.
The kitchen is Snaidero, with an island in bookmatch marble and Glas Italia sliding glass partitions designed by Piero Lissoni for flexible separation. Appliances are Miele and Siemens; fixtures throughout are Grohe, maintained from the original Citterio specification for the Bulgari residences. Bathrooms are Marazzi ceramic in marble and travertino effect; all flooring is Khars parquet. All six bedrooms are finished in light oak with ensuite bathrooms. The terraces run the perimeter with Japanese-sourced resistant composite decking and timber louvres.
