Fendi Boutique
Mall of the Emirates, Dubai · 2015
My first work with a fashion house, as local architect. The house asked for travertine across the shop front, lit from within — the material was settled from the start, and the difficulty was making it stand: the installation was the hardest part of the job and the part that took the most of us. The team was organised to the last detail, and I learned more here than on any project before it.
Travertine on the shop front, backlit. Inside, a backlit wall of textured gold carries the bags; the shelving is pale wood with LED integrated shelf by shelf, the central case glass on burnished metal, the entrance marked in dark polished marble. My client was Esa Engineering, and the road that opened after this project started with them.
